Modernizing the "Castle on the Hill"
Known as the “Castle on the Hill”, the Chateau at Beaver Creek is a high-end residential property with an old world luxury aesthetic and all the amenities and services of a new world five-star boutique hotel. The Chateau is easily considered to be one of Vail Valley’s most exclusive properties with one of the most private locations. The property boasts 65 ski-in/ski-out condos in its two main buildings, a grouping of townhome style units, and a 5-bedroom Chalet tucked in the trees.
It’s no coincidence that the Chateau has been referred to as “paradise” and “a true fairy tale location” by numerous guests. Management intentionally creates the most peaceful and secluded atmosphere, where meaningful personal interactions and experiences are held with the highest regard. Guests and owner’s alike are provided the opportunity to escape the increasingly busy outside world to not only promote personal rest and relaxation but to enhance engagement with those closest to them.
While the Chateau is and has been known as one the most luxurious escapes in the Vail Valley, the Chateau’s commitment to enhancing its guests and owners overall wellbeing sparked several recent upgrades to the property consisting of a state-of-the-art Spa, Fitness center, Skier lounge, and refreshed locker rooms. In order to create such a holistically rich wellness facility, Ownership was incredibly cognizant of the importance in modernizing the lighting and lighting control system with the latest technologies to achieve the desired environmental effect.
Our team was presented with the task of utilizing only existing power and downlight locations; luckily, the existing architectural details and electrical infrastructure was in excellent condition, which allowed us to simply replace outdated lighting technologies with high performance LED technology. Through strategic lighting fixture specifications, we were able to provide a comprehensive luxury lighting environment that is modern, functional, and welcoming. The addition of a small-scale, user-friendly lighting control system provides the Chateau’s staff the ability custom tune the lighting to implement specific scenes at different times of the day, as well as to take advantage of the available daylight in the Spa lobby.
These most recent upgrades to the swanky Chateau focus on improving health and enhancing relaxation where “old world service meets new world luxury”.
